CHARITY DINNER
CHARITY DINNERThis July, Uma by COMO, Ubud–our luxury hotel in central Bali – becomes an arts centre as open spaces are filled with wooden sculptures by artist Mickaël Obrénovitch. Using 200-year-old teak wood from Java for his work, Obrénovitch’s work is influenced by the notion of the Indonesian forest as Asia’s ‘lung’. On July 18th, enjoy the exhibition's opening evening with our three-course charity set dinner at Uma Cucina, Uma Ubud’s rustic Italian restaurant.

Choose to dine on roasted sea bass followed by ginger-scented white chocolate semifreddo, paired with expertly-selected Italian wines in our convivial surroundings. Twenty-five per cent of the money raised from the dinner will go to the Bali-based IDEP foundation in support of their ‘Give a Gift That Grows’ treeplanting project – a community scheme that aims to help people, through education and environmental preservation, to achieve sustainable development. For more information on the exhibition or to book a table at the charity dinner, please contact : res.uma.ubud@ comohotels.com or +62 3 61 972 448

IDEP Foundations
In the Balinese language 'IDEP' is the aspect of human consciousness that is our ability to plan and think critically. This name helps us convey our belief that in this age of increasingly challenging life situations, it is our ability to understand our environments and create appropriate solutions for sustainable development, that will maximize our positive impact on this world and give us all a better chance for survival. IDEP Foundations has a vision of safe and sustainable lives through understanding our interconnectedness with nature. To preform this mission IDEP develops and delivers training, community programs and media about sustainable development through Permaculture, and community-based disaster management. For 15 years IDEP has been delivering practical programs and public education activities to communities in need all over Indonesia. We deliver training in local communities and schools as well as to government and non-government organizations. Our training is about more than just conveying information. We and our partners work directly with communities to maintain ongoing disaster management and sustainable development projects. All of this important work was made possible thanks to supporters like yourselves. IDEP continues helping communities and need your continuous support.
