The Gate of Colombia, also known as ‘La Puerta del Sol’ will be unveiled on the 2nd of March 2019 at the Escuela de Caballeria in Bogota. The monumental circular sculpture symbolizes hope and union of communities. Designed and inspired by pre-Columbian culture, the urban artwork acts as an ‘open door’ conecting Colombia to the world.
The Cavalry School of the Military Forces, ‘Escuela de Caballeria’ is the venue sponsor of the ‘Gate of Colombia’ which will be unveiled on March the 2nd 2019. The institution trains and specializes its personnel in equestrian sports at a national and international level, as well as offering services to devoted riders and the general public, in order to gain the best riding skills in the country. Proud to be a pioneer in the expression of art with horses, thanks to the importance they associate with their communication, emotional content, personal development and leadership expertise.
Building one gate at a time, this ambitious art project aims to create a worldwide network of symbolic gates. One sculpture per country of identical dimensions, uniquely designed and engraved will encourage communication and connection between people, cultures and countries.
The 2 proud sponsors of the Gates of the World project are venue holders; Escuela de Caballeria, permanent host of the Gate of Colombia monument, Puerta de la Victoria, and Grand Hyatt Bogota, temporary host of the Puerta del Oro gate.
