Expo Astana 2017 is an International event scheduled to take place between June 10 and September 10, 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The expo’s theme is «Future Energy», and aims to create a global debate between countries, nongovernmental organizations, companies and the general public .

Future Energy Artworks

Mickael Obrenovitch is one of the artists invited to create sculptures for Expo Astana 2017. The exhibition includes five conceptual sculptures in keeping with the «energy» theme and will be showing at the Kazakhstan pavilion. The artist designed each piece with both spirit and imagination to symbolize the possible future sources of energy using an abstract vision.

This national pavilion embodies the spirit of Kazakhstan and will turn into a metaphoric journey, which will reveal a vision: Future Energy is a human being; thus, the mission of the pavilion is to reveal the potential of the Kazakh people and the country itself. The World of Energy pavilion presents energy as a separate phenomenon and reveals possible solutions for a more sustainable energy development in the future, with the help of physics, science experiments, etc.

Astana is the capital city of Kazakhstan. It is located on the Ishim River in the north of Kazakhstan, within the Akmola Region, though administrated separately from the region as a city with special status. The 2014 census reported a population of 835,153, making it the second largest city in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is a country in northern Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Its largest landlocked country and the ninth largest in the world. Kazakhstan is the dominant nation of Central Asia economically.
